pilot requirements

  • Minimum HGFA Intermediate rating, FAI IPPI 3
  • A GPS capable of recording a 3D IGC tracklog
  • Certified paraglider and harness
  • A  reserve parachute
  • HGFA Financial
  • UHF radio (477MHz band)
  • HGFA radio operators licence endorsement

Flying during summer in Bright can be demanding with strong thermic conditions. Recommend you are familiar with paragliding in such an environment and are prepared to exercise good judgement in your flying decisions

Rules

All pilots must have valid HGFA membership to fly in the competition. Full information on membership can be found at the HGFA website where short term membership is available to visiting pilots.All relevant rules can be found in the current HGFA competition manual and the FAI Sporting Code Section 7B.
